An American Photographer
Cunningham’s work began as soft focus tableau of her friends, but she began to take more sharp focus images of plants. These photographs were a form of study of plant form and composition. These plant studies allowed her to discover the abstract patters and the inherent simplicity in plants.
Cunningham became a member of the acclaimed ƒ/64 group who maintained incredibly wide depth of field with pin point sharpness. The images show the detailed structure of the plants that Cunningham photographed, the images show a delicate light which highlights the natural elements of the plant.
In my own work I would like to achieve a similar sense of study, showing a sense of the plants and forms of the flowers.
