These images are softly toned by this only increases the particulars of the plant, the soft background is very alluring as the viewers focus is now trained on the plant itself, the composition also draws the  eye left to right allowing the viewer to read the image. The focus slowly tapers off due to the shallow depth of field. I find this image, ‘Muscari – big smile’ to be exactly what I thought I would like to capture in my own work I can use a studio light and a controlled background to make this sort of image. It would also be interesting to explore black and whites as the different tones and a filter as I feel it has been particularly effective here. The softness in the petals and shallow depth really make an atmosphere for the ‘rose’ image. The square composition allowing the flower to fill the frame is a very powerful composition.
